Making The Most Of Garden Features

Landscaping a garden is a delightful way to add your own stamp on the aesthetics of your home. However, when I moved into my first home, I had absolutely no clue about the best way to design a great landscape, or even what garden features were. I have created this blog because I want to share the landscaping ideas I have picked up in the past decade. Water features, privacy screens, bird baths and statues are all excellent options for garden features. So, have a read of my blog posts and see which of the garden features I write about appeal to you.

How to Choose the Right Lawn mower for Your Large Garden

Mowing the lawn is a chore that most people dread. It's especially daunting if you have a large garden, as it can take hours and be physically demanding. However, the right lawn mower makes all the difference, so it pays to research when selecting one. Here are some of the different types of lawn mowers on the market and their features, which should help you make an informed choice.

Manual Push Mowers

If you're looking for a lawn mower that won't break the bank, then a manual push mower could be a good option. This type of mower is powered by your own energy to push it around the garden, so no electricity or fuel costs are involved. They are also lightweight and easy to store. However, manual push mowers are best suited for small gardens and those with short grass because they don't offer adjustable heights for cutting those longer blades.

Electric Rotary Mowers

Electric rotary mowers may be superior to their petrol-powered counterparts. After all, they require less maintenance and start quietly with a simple press of a button. They come in both corded and cordless versions (the latter running off battery power). Cordless electric rotary mowers are ideal if you have a medium-sized garden with flat terrain; however, they may struggle on hilly surfaces as cordless models tend to have lower power outputs than other types of lawnmowers. Also, remember that cordless models need recharging after every session, so ensure you get one with sufficient battery life for your needs.

Robotic Lawn mowers

Robotic lawn mowers are becoming increasingly popular these days due to their convenience and efficiency in getting the job done quickly and easily. As their name suggests, robotic lawn mowers operate autonomously—you simply set them up once and let them get to work! These solutions come with built-in sensors which allow them to navigate around obstacles while avoiding stairs or slopes without needing any human intervention. In addition, robotic lawn mowers require minimal maintenance—just empty out their collection boxes occasionally, and they can even run if it's raining outside. However, they tend to be expensive compared to other types of mower and may not be suitable for large gardens as they can take several hours to cover the whole area due to their relatively slow speed.

What Should You Do Next?

As you can see, there are several options available when choosing a lawn mower for your garden. However, many people in your situation who are faced with a sizeable lawn will bring in professionals to take care of the issue instead. Landscape contractors will have access to a variety of powerful and productive machines and can typically take care of the issue in much less time.
